On the weekend of January 13th, Judo Manitoba Team members competed at the 2024 Elite Nationals held in Edmonton, AB. The top 8 ranked athletes in each U18 and Seniors weight categories are invited to compete in this event.
Following are Team Manitoba’s results.
- U18 -50kg – Avery Pampolina – Silver
- U18 -90kg – Jacob Dudgen-Sykes – Bronze
- U18 +90kg – Cai James – 4th
- Seniors -63kg – Sarah Ekosky – 5th
- Seniors -73kg – Damien Ekosky – Gold
- Seniors -100kg – Michael Akbashev – Gold
Also during this event, Sarah Ekosky was awarded the Sherwood Ford bursary for the top female performer of year based on all her results in National A level tournaments in 2023.
