NCCP re-certification
Sport Manitoba requires that all individuals coaching in Manitoba take the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders on-line course (“RIS”). This course, which takes approximately two and a half hours to complete, has been mandatory since around 2007. Sport Manitoba has since implemented a requirement that coaches re-certify in the RIS program every 5 years.
At the moment, 40% of Manitoba judo coaches have up-to-date certification in RIS.
Coaches who took RIS more than 5 years ago need to re-certify in the course. Coaches who have never taken the course also need to complete this requirement. We kindly ask all coaches who are not current in RIS to complete this requirement by August 31, 2021.
Please follow the links below for information about the program and for a link to take RIS for Activity Leaders:

If you are not sure what your current certification status is, you can check at the link above, or email me at selkirkjudoclub@shaw.ca and I can let you know.
Please note that current certification in RIS will be a pre-requisite for all future Dojo Assistant and Dojo Instructor NCCP courses offered by Judo Manitoba.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
