The annual David Caligiuri Memorial Award is dedicated to honour the memory of David Caligiuri who passed away in 1997. David was 16 years old when he won a bronze medal at the 1997 Junior Canadian National Judo Championships. David’s parents, Tony and Gail Caligiuri, and his sister, Leslie, support Judo Manitoba in awarding an annual scholarship to a promising athlete who displays positive citizenship skills, judo talent, courage, fighting spirit, and a dedication to the sport of Judo in Manitoba.
